Kate’s Qualifications
Kaitryn (“Kate”) Wertz draws upon over twenty years of experience helping people to make positive life changes. Kate’s work is characterized by intuition, compassion, optimism and collaboration. She is comfortable with such issues as depression, anxiety, addiction, post-traumatic stress and trauma-related difficulties, and life transitions associated with relationships, family, career changes, creative blockages and grief and loss. Although Kate specializes in a Jungian approach, her background includes training in Cognitive-Behavioral, Rogerian, Solution Focused and Family Systems methods.
In addition to her private psychotherapy practice, Kate serves as Co-Director of the Growing Minds Autism Program, where she counsels parents of children with autism spectrum disorders for issues related to their children’s’ difficulties. She has presented lectures and seminars on autism to parents and professionals throughout North America and Europe.
From 1983 -1998, Kate was a counselor and primary teacher for The Option Institute of Sheffield, Massachusetts, a learning center offering individual counseling and personal growth programs, using a non-judgmental, cognitive-behavioral approach. Kate counseled individuals, couples and groups and presented workshops throughout the US and Canada.
In the 1970s, she helped establish the Kripalu Center of Lenox, Massachusetts, the largest residential holistic health and yoga center on the East Coast. During her eleven years at Kripalu, Kate taught groups and counseled individuals in personal self-exploration, meditation and yoga.
