A deeply satisfying love relationship can be among the greatest joys in life. The art of building a successful relationship does not come automatically out of the blue, but it is something you can learn. Relationship counseling can help.

I provide relationship therapy for singles who have struggled to create or sustain fulfilling intimate relationships. Counseling can help you identify insecurities or old patterns that may be holding you back as well as helping you clarify the type of relationship you want and ways to begin creating it. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve struggled, or how old you are, relationship counseling can help you heal.

How does relationship therapy work?

If you are seeking therapy because you are currently in crisis, due to a difficult breakup or other painful relationship issue, we will first focus on relieving any distressing feelings or life problems arising from these difficulties.

Or perhaps you are not currently in crisis, but have reached a point where you feel ready to take active steps to address issues such as loneliness, difficulty dating, or fears and self doubt, in order to create a happier, more loving life. Therapy is a space where you can be heard without judgment. The complexity and uniqueness of your circumstance will be honored. With respect and confidentiality, I can help you listen to your own wisdom about what is right for you so that you can begin making more satisfying decisions.

As immediate distressing feelings are relieved, we can begin to explore the unconscious patterns operating in your relationship history. My goal is to help you decode core emotional patterns and to help you identify underlying fears, needs and values. We have all been shaped by our past experiences, and we tend to unconsciously repeat old patterns until we work them through. Understanding the experiences that have influenced you can bring valuable insight and perspective to your current situation. Change requires expanded awareness. Self-knowledge is power. As you come to integrate past and present, you gain more freedom to make choices that will serve you well in the future.
